The “Tiny Bursary” is intended to recognise and express gratitude towards individuals and/or teams working in the fields Disaster and Emergency Management (D&EM) and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). This fund was designed with the idea that sometimes a small amount of money can go a long way. Ideas such as a new office fan, pizza party, volunteer shirts, stationary, a coffee machine, birthday cakes – anything that may express gratitude, improve the lives or working environment, fill a need, or bring joy to people working in the field! The bursary may be presented to a team, or an individual.
Tiny Bursary will allow members to apply for up to $500.00 CAD. For the inaugural 2025 Tiny Bursary, the award recipient(s) will be announced by the end June 2025.
Eligibility: All CRHNet members (individual and organisational) are eligible to apply for the Tiny Bursary. Unfortunately, non-members are not eligible to act as nominators at this time. The recipient of this award is not required to be a CRHNet member, however it must be a CRHNet member that nominates the recipient. Self-nominations are accepted.
Past recipients are eligible to re-apply for the Tiny Bursary, but will not be awarded consecutively.
Selection: All nomination packages will be adjudicated by the CRHNet Awards Committee.
Award Notification: While we thank all applicants for their interest in this award, only successful candidates will be notified of the award decision.
